Who we are
On September 19, 2014, Marla Vega and María Barrera, co-founders of “Morivivi Latino Cancer Support Group,” created this group to provide support to Latinas in Philadelphia with a breast cancer diagnosis.
Morivivi became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in February 2019, and since then, it has expanded to provide care and support to all individuals experiencing any type of cancer diagnosis.
Our group meets monthly in the Philadelphia community, providing emotional support, health education, and recreational workshops; developing skills that empower each member to improve their quality of life. Morivivi offers a space where individuals feel comfortable and safe to share their cancer experiences in a confidential manner.

How can we help you?
Education
Raise awareness in the Hispanic community about regularly undergoing preventive screenings, learn about cancer and its risks, understand the changes brought about by the condition, and help overcome them.
Patient navigator
Survivors share their experiences with others who understand the challenges of facing and dealing with cancer, in a familiar, safe, and confidential environment.
Emotional support
Help schedule medical appointments, accompany patients to their appointments, and provide medical interpretation when needed.
