For most patients, a cancer diagnosis is a frightening time life-changing. A medical treatment, accompanied by the love and the right support, play an important role.
Love, in all its manifestations, it helps to give comfort and a sense of peace not only to the patients but also their families. This is according to Dr. Lawrence H. Einhorn, clinical oncologist, in the publication of the prominent American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
But how to influence the love, kindness and communication in the health of a partner, and what role they play in your relationships?
It is very important to think about the dynamics of the two people that make it up. And whether it is a heterosexual couple, a homosexual, is not in accordance with the genre, dynamic, or a relationship of friends, it is very important to establish a level of trust. And with that comes the love, kindness and communication. It is key that they are to be the basis of a relationship thriving.
To understand the characteristics and the nature of the relationship is the basis for a more organization of palliative care and will improve the performance of the same.

Around the world in itself has the potential to achieve all that you can do for yourself, but all good comes a little help
When a patient and a therapist, spend time together, the patient talk and share their thoughts, dreams and fears. The therapist is transmitted to the patient. And the patient listens to it in a way that helps to reflect on their thoughts in a way that perhaps I had not heard before, because he was stuck in his own head.
While it may not be, when you have the chance to say it aloud, they are able to listen to it in a different way that gives them a different perspective. And that is a powerful experience: to be able to establish a relationship that is so personal, but with someone who is dedicated to your well-being.
Of the hand of the love comes compassion, a concept that has been taking a place in the care of patients. Not to be confused with pity. In fact, the “journal of Palliative Medicine”, of the European Association for Palliative Care, published a canadian study that inquired into how patients palliative interpreted and experienced pity, empathy and compassion, three possible reactions on the part of the health teams during their care.
Communication strategies
Although we know that the experience of the disease is unique to each person, there are tools that help to make more bearable communications and to better manage the emotions of the patients.
The protocol SPIKES is an established method for physicians to address the conversations with the patients. Originally designed for use in the oncology setting, and published as a protocol of six steps in 2000. SPIKES means:
– Environment: choose a private setting and comfortable where the doctor and the patient can talk without interruption. The environment can also refer to members of the family that the patient would like to have present.
– Perception: Ask the patient how they perceive their condition and the state of their disease.
– Invitation (or Information): Ask the patient if it is ok to talk about the state of their disease. This empowers patients and gives them a feeling of control.
– Knowledge: Provide a summary of what the doctor did not know before, what they expected and what they learned. Doctors should talk slowly in short sentences, make eye contact and avoid medical jargon.
– Empathy: Listen with empathy while the patient responds emotionally and acknowledge their feelings with compassion.
– Summarize (or to create strategies): To summarize what has been said and formulate a plan, with feedback and in collaboration with the patient. Physicians should ask the patient if what he just said makes sense and invite additional questions.

Embrace and feel loved also helps
Cancer is a disease that attacks not only the body but also the soul.
Doctors are trained routinely to stay separated from their own emotions and those of their patients. The idea is to be able to support patients to live your life to the fullest.
For many, faith and prayer are useful in the healing process. Prayer allows the body to soothe and heals the soul, because there is something that is true, it may not always be cured, but you can always heal.
