Who we are
Latino Cancer Support Group
A refuge of strenght
On September 19, 2014, Marla Vega and María Barrera, co-founders of "Morivivi Latino Cancer Support Groupcreated this group to provide support to Latinas in Philadelphia with a breast cancer diagnosis.
Morivivi became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in February 2019, and since then, it has expanded to provide care and support to all individuals experiencing a diagnosis of any type of cancer.
Our group meets monthly in the Philadelphia community, providing emotional support, health education, and recreational workshops; developing skills that empower each member to improve their quality of life.
Shared Hope
Morivivi provides a space where individuals feel comfortable and safe to share their experiences with cancer in a confidential manner.
The goal of the group is to help cancer patients and survivors understand their diagnosis, take control of their treatment, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Navigators and companions provide support services tailored to the multicultural nature of our community, addressing language barriers that may affect understanding and participation in treatment.
